1. Do I remember afterwards?

You remember everything. The conscious mind is fully there in hypnosis, but so is the subconscious. At the end of the hypnosis, you usually still know exactly what you said and what the hypnotist said.

2. Am I at the mercy?

In fact, many people have the idea of hypnosis to be without their will, i.e. at the mercy of them. It's not like that. You can end the hypnosis yourself at any time if you do not feel well.

3. What if I don't wake up again?

Hypnosis is nothing more than a very deep form of relaxation. Either way, you wake up.

4. How am I actually hypnotized?

The hypnosis induction is practiced in different ways. Fixing a pendulum is now rather rare. In most cases, an intensive and very pleasant body journey, which you may know from autogenic training, leads to a deep state of relaxation (feel-good trance). In the form of pictures, I invite you to mental relaxation. You are completely with yourself and this state alone is good for you.

5. Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes. But only if you want it. The principle of voluntariness is very important.

Hypnosis works with a state of trance. Trance states are nothing unusual, they are states that occur quite naturally in every human being several times a day, e.g. when reading a novel and inner images arise or when driving long distances on the freeway. The combination of concentration and monotony allows such trances to arise quite naturally. It has been proven that everyone goes into a light trance every 45 - 90 minutes (Ernest L. Rossi). The hypnotist uses this completely natural ability (which is even better developed in children) to activate inner awareness.

6. Can I be hypnotized against my will?

No. This is not possible because a reputable hypnotist has no interest in doing anything against the will of his client. In addition, we only work on the topics that you have decided on. With my hypnosis you know in advance exactly what the content and goal of the hypnosis will be. Incidentally, no one can be influenced without limits. Especially in hypnosis one has a healthy egoism and only accepts what is good for oneself.

In the case of guided hypnosis, you always have the opportunity to "consciously" listen to the entire hypnosis beforehand!

7. Can you remember the hypnosis afterwards?

Yes, with hypnosis you are usually only partly in a trance state and another part stays awake and can remember everything. Anyone who has experience with hypnosis or meditation can also achieve deeper states of relaxation. Then you have the feeling of "being away without sleeping". Incidentally, it is not necessary for the success of hypnosis to reach deeper trances. But even in this state you keep track of what is happening, as I have found in several situations.

8. Is hypnosis dangerous?

No. On the contrary. You can experience yourself in a state of mental and physical well-being. During hypnosis, the immune system increases, the stress hormones decrease, blood pressure, pulse rate and breathing rate decrease, pain sensations subside. In the emotional experience it can happen that dealing with problems can lead to intense feelings - as in the waking consciousness, by the way. The goal of hypnosis is to get through the problem to a successful solution.

9. Is the success of hypnosis really permanent?

The task I am given is to change the undesirable. And I support my clients in this. So the goal is improvement. And you don't just give up making improvements. The changes also endure because you make the decisions about changes yourself, and because the changes correspond to your own ideas and abilities.

10. I am afraid of hypnosis, it scares me. What can you do there?

Everything that is unknown to us makes us curious, or it scares us. Curiosity drives us to try new things, fear drives us to avoid new things. Overcoming fear requires trust. Therefore, you should only do hypnosis with someone you trust and who will respect and answer all questions. Many people fear losing control. I design the hypnosis in such a way that you remain in control and can interrupt the exercise at any point.

11. Do you lose your will in hypnosis?

This idea of hypnosis is one of the most well-known. She's still wrong. No one can be made to do anything by hypnosis against their will or against their own values. Especially in hypnosis you are particularly attuned to your own needs and you would be wide awake immediately if something happened against your will. Hypnosis has always stimulated the imagination. If we think this fear through to the end, and if it were really possible, then a number of therapists and coaches could have made themselves millionaires long ago. But they still work as normal therapists and coaches.

12. In the case of stage and show hypnosis, people are made weak-willed, aren't they?

Show hypnosis has nothing to do with therapeutic work or coaching. They are also more of a game with the audience. When a hypnotized person stands motionless on stage with their eyes closed, everyone thinks they are "gone". In reality, he just doesn't know when he "may" open his eyes again. Being on stage or being the center of attention is basically a situation where you lose freedom. The show hypnotists skillfully seek out exactly those people who are weak and cannot differentiate themselves in such situations. This is exactly what makes stage hypnosis so questionable, because the "hypnotized" becomes the "victim" and his own needs play no role at all. The entertainment of the audience is essential. Show hypnosis is forbidden in many countries such as England, Sweden and Austria.

13. Can I be manipulated in hypnosis?

Before the hypnosis, everything will be discussed in detail between the hypnotist and you as the client. Your goal is also the goal of the hypnotist. If anything happens during hypnosis that causes you to resist, the state of relaxation will subside. This means that changes against your will are not possible. It would immediately lead to the end of the hypnosis.

14. Isn't hypnosis also a form of manipulation?

With hypnosis you can make pain manageable, free yourself from fears, positively influence depression, solve problems, eliminate sleep disorders. We only know manipulation as a negative term, in the original meaning of the word it means "a specific movement". In this sense, I don't think the word manipulation is so bad. The pain is manipulated so that it no longer hurts, the fears are manipulated so that trust can develop. I've already informed myself well, but I still believe that hypnosis doesn't work for me because I can't let myself go at all. With hypnosis you don't have to let yourself go. Rather, it is about entering a state of relaxation step by step. Relaxation is also a healthy state and an experience where you can experience yourself without fear. Those who cannot let themselves go sometimes have a longing for it. Hypnosis is a wonderful way to learn this. That you first experience yourself in control and gradually learn how you can influence the depth of relaxation yourself. Sometimes it is good to learn autogenic training first.

15. Do you speak during hypnosis?

As a rule, nobody speaks voluntarily in hypnosis, the relaxation prevents this. But there is a technique in hypnosis where inner pictorial ideas are developed. The hypnotist can use these images to communicate with the client and talk to him during hypnosis. Dialogue can play an important role in recognition, development and interpretation.

16. I've heard that when you go to therapy, you get worse at first. Is this also the case with hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a solution-oriented method. So a goal is set very clearly that can be achieved. As a result, you get a result relatively quickly, so that you usually feel much better after hypnosis. I design the hypnosis in such a way that you experience success with every hypnosis because your strengths are strengthened. Week by week you will get closer to your goal and you will feel much better.

17. What does autogenic training have to do with hypnosis?

The autogenic was developed from hypnosis and is a form of self-hypnosis. There are six standardized exercises that are gradually practiced and trained. Usually you learn one exercise per week.

18. What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

The therapy mostly deals with pathological conditions. Coaching is about personal development.

19. Can you also coach yourself? There are a relatively large number of books on this subject, what speaks against it?

There's nothing wrong with coaching yourself. Everyone does that too. In everything we do, we strive to make improvements. Anyone who has ever enveloped or franked 100 letters will find that you improve from step to step. It's the same with everything we do: driving a car, dictating letters, developing concepts... The advantage of a coach is something like that. He too has heard some topics a hundred times or at best experienced them himself and has meanwhile collected methods, knowledge and above all techniques that can accelerate your personal development. The coach is a specialist in personality development. For the coached, this has the advantage that he saves time and can use this time more efficiently. When you coach yourself, not only does it take longer, but it's sometimes impossible to teach yourself techniques you don't know.
